At Texan Wills and Trusts, we believe every Texan deserves access to affordable, reliable estate planning. That’s why we’ve created a modern, online solution that delivers legally compliant, easy-to-understand documents—crafted specifically for Texas law.

Our mission is simple: to help Texans protect their loved ones, avoid probate, and secure their legacy—without the hassle or high cost of traditional legal services.

Meet Our Founders

Meet the Founders

Austin B. Butts, JD

Austin is a licensed Texas attorney with more than a decade of experience helping individuals and families navigate estate planning and probate. Having reviewed thousands of estate plans—including many flawed documents from national online providers—Austin saw the need for a better, Texas-specific solution. He co-founded Texan Wills and Trusts to make high-quality planning accessible to every Texan, right from their phone or computer.

Lorne C. Book, JD

Lorne is also a licensed Texas attorney with deep expertise in estate planning and estate administration. He has worked with countless families to ensure their wishes are clearly expressed and legally valid. Lorne’s precision and commitment to Texas law are reflected in every document Texan provides.

Austin and Lorne both serve as Deacons at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas, and they are proud to bring their values of service, integrity, and stewardship to this platform.

How We’re Different

We’re led by experienced Texas attorneys—but Texan Wills and Trusts is not a law firm. That means we can offer state-specific estate plans at a fraction of the traditional cost. Our documents are designed to comply with Texas law, avoiding the costly mistakes we’ve seen in generic templates from national providers.

If your situation requires custom legal advice, we’re happy to refer you to our affiliated law firm, Book Law Firm (booklawfirm.com), where Austin and Lorne offer traditional legal services.
